Effects on Cannabis:
Too much heat or over cooking can destroy THC activity. Normal cooking temperatures for normal cooking times can increase potency by activating the THC.

Cannabis Tea?
Raw Cannabis
Most of the THC in fresh undried cannabis is in the form of THC acid, since it has not been dried to convert the acids to THC, eaten even in large a quantities you might as well be eating lettuce.
THC, the active substance in cannabis, is not water soluble. It is soluble in oils, fats, and alcohols. This has been known for thousands of years. Recipes from India and other cannabis eating civilizations usually require that the cannabis be sauteed in butter or clarified butter before combining it with other ingredients. Still, in the enlightened twentieth century, we often find otherwise intelligent people boiling and often only steeping, drinking cup after in pursuit of relief that may never arrive. Then they discard the leaves, which, though soggy, are still very potent. If the cannabis is of excellent quality and has much resin on the outside, it is possible after strenuous boiling, that a portion of these resins will be softened by the heat and will float out into the tea water, clearly; though boiling in water is not an efficient way to extract oil-soluble materials.
The Quality of Your cannabis
It is a tradition to use the lowest grades of leaf or shake for baking and save bud for smoking. However, experience has revised our view of baking and eating therapy. Now we only recommend high-grade indicia leaf from the colas and plants, or dry bud of the best quality we can obtain. The quality, strength and endurances of the cannabis you use in your baking will come through in the effects experienced with eating therapy.
