Any group of mental conditions which interfere with the normal functioning of ones’ life. Anxiety can be brought on by:
· Fear
· Panic
· Compulsiveness
· Stress
· Substance abuse
· Worrying
· Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
· Phobias
*The intensity, duration or frequency of the anxiety and worry is far out of proportion to the actual likelihood or impact of the feared event.
Frequent Counseling (and sometimes medications) is the key
to treating anxiety disorder.
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, (ADHD) may begin in early childhood but may not be diagnosed until after the symptoms have been present for many years.
Some of the symptoms are:
· Marked hyperactivity
· Inattentiveness
· Impulsiveness
· Or a combination of all the above
Recommended treatment is counseling, and there are medications which vary depending on the age of the patient. It is also recommended that family be involved when warranted.
